Up for sale is a 100% original 1960 contract N-1 Deck Jacket, not a reproduction. This is the iconic cold-weather deck jacket first issued in WWII.

CONDITION:
Good original vintage condition. Honest wear from service use. Alpaca pile is still thick and warm with no major bald spots. Shell has light fading and general soiling consistent with age. All buttons present, zipper works. Handwritten laundry name \"Evelyn\" on chest. Please see all photos - you get exactly what is pictured.

Contract DA-36-243-QM(CTM)-8001-C-60: DA prefix = Quartermaster contracts 1950s-1961 where last two digits indicate contract year. \"-C-60\" = 1960. QM = Quartermaster Corps, CTM = Clothing and Textile Materiel.
This jacket has no USN stencil. This variant was issued to US Coast Guard Reserve ORTUPS (Organized Reserve Training Unit, Port Security). ORTUPS were re-established in 1949 after SPARS, growing to 35 units and 8,300 reservists by July 1951 for port security operations. Coast Guard ORTUPS N-1s were issued without the large back stencil.
Khaki color vs. later OG-107 olive green adopted in mid-60s. Retains original WWII-type alpaca blend construction.
