History:
VR-7 was a Navy transport squadron based at NAS Moffett Field, California, and operated as part of the joint Air Force–Navy Military Air Transport Service. The squadron flew the C-130E Hercules from about 1964 until it was disestablished in 1967, flying Pacific and Vietnam-era airlift missions. That dates this cap to a narrow window of roughly 1964–1967.
The cap belonged to Navy pilot Jim Fulwiler, who flew C-130Es with VR-7.
Condition:
Shows honest age and wear consistent with use. Fading and soiling on the crown and underbrim, some loose embroidery threads, etc. Please see photos for full condition. No repairs.
