He is best known for his pioneering contributions to architecture and furniture design in the 20th century.Breuer began his career at the Bauhaus school in Weimar in the 1920s and soon became head of the school\'s furniture department. There he developed the famous Wassily chair and the Cesca chair, which are considered some of the most important chairs of the 20th century. He pioneered the use of tubular steel in furniture design and created several iconic tubular steel pieces of furniture. His work was characterized by the principles of modernism, and he was a significant architect who designed everything from art museums and libraries to residential buildings and office buildings. His work spanned different phases and included the use of different materials and styles, from steel pipes to concrete and stone. The Wassily Chair, also known as Model B3, is a pioneering piece of furniture design and was designed between 1925 and 1926 when Breuer was head of the carpentry workshop at the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany. It has become an icon in modern furniture design and has a fascinating history. The first version of the chair, which would later become known as \"Wassily\", was produced in the late 1920s by Thonet, the German-Austrian furniture company best known for its bentwood chairs. The version of the chair produced by Thonet is rare and was discontinued during World War II. Most of Breuer\'s early designs were produced under license by Standard-Möbel, Lengyel & Company, a Berlin-based manufacturer. After the war years, Gavina took over the license for the Wassily chair, along with the Breuer
