Vintage1971 7th printing the Playboy Gourmet by Thomas Mario.This is a hard cover book (the dust jacket was damaged by the original owner) that features all the dishes that were published in the magazine and served at the club(Playboy magazine was the first to feature a food & drink recipe section).
Some of the books we sell will have dedications, notations and other things from the past life of the book, we do not feel these things are flaws but only add to the charm and history of the book. (We do try to show these in the photos, but occasionally they may get missed )

Mrs. Montgomery wrote many children's books, includingThe Wonderful Electric Elephant, one of the earliest children's stories to be classified as science fiction. In a 1902 interview with The Bookseller magazine, she described her method of coming up with stories as "to invite a group of children to my house for an hour in the evening, that between dinner and their bed-time, to whom I have 'spun yarns' that have not infrequently been continued from sitting to sitting for weeks together." She authored about twenty-five different Billy Whiskers books, and died at sea in 1925 aboard the SSFranconianear Hong Kong while on an around-the-world cruise.
