1973 Gibson L-5CES – Clean & Highly Original
Beautiful and exceptionally clean 1973 Gibson L-5CES in excellent condition. This is a very well-preserved example that remains all original aside from a set of high-quality Kluson original reissue tuners, and a non-gassing pickguard - which fit perfectly.
The guitar has just been freshly detailed and professionally set up. The frets have been polished, the fingerboard cleaned and moisturized with Lem-Oil, and it has been restrung with a fresh set of D\'Addario Chromes .011 flatwounds. It plays beautifully with a comfortable action and is ready to go.
The electronics remain original, including the original pots and Patent Sticker humbuckers. The pickups sound exactly as you would hope from an early-\'70s L-5CES—warm, articulate and full, with tremendous clarity and depth.
Cosmetically, the guitar is remarkably clean for being more than 50 years old, showing only normal light signs of careful use and age. The finish, hardware, binding and appointments present beautifully.
The L-5CES represents the top tier of Gibson\'s classic electric archtop production, and finding a clean, highly original early-\'70s example like this is becoming increasingly difficult.
