Vintage 1981 Zuni Silver Pink Mother of Pearl Inlay Necklace & Earrings — Signed Dee.
Beautiful vintage Zuni Native American sterling silver and pink mother of Pearl inlay necklace with matching earrings, purchased by me directly from a Zuni seller approximately 40–45 years ago.
The necklace features individually cut pieces of luminous pale-pink MOP set into graceful teardrop-shaped sterling silver settings. The shell has beautiful natural variations and iridescence that catch the light.
The reverse is hand engraved “Dee” and appears to read “Zuni 81,” along with a distinctive central maker’s hallmark. The “81” is believed to indicate 1981, which is consistent with when I purchased the piece. The exact artist attribution has not been confirmed, so I am selling it as an unattributed signed Zuni piece.
The necklace and its two matching earrings are an original set..Can include leverback earwires if desired.
Details: Approximately 15" necklace length; decorative centerpiece approximately 3" wide and approximately 3" from top to bottom including the dangling teardrop; total weight of necklace and earrings 20.2 grams.
Excellent vintage condition with the original age-related patina. It has intentionally not been polished, preserving the original surface and hand-engraved markings.
A beautiful and unusual vintage Zuni set with known provenance, owned by me since its original purchase approximately four decades ago.
