The DeArmond RHC-B (Model 210) is a vintage magnetic soundhole pickup for flat-top acoustic guitars, originally manufactured by Rowe Industries in Toledo, Ohio, during the 1950s and 1960s.
Type: Single-coil magnetic soundhole pickup.
Construction: Features a white plastic coil cover set inside a chrome-plated metal surround.
The "B" Designation: The pole piece for the B-string is recessed or lowered beneath the plastic cover to balance string output and prevent the B-string from sounding overly loud.
Controls: Includes an integrated thumbwheel for on-the-fly volume adjustment.
Mounting: Uses spring-tension clips/expanding arms designed to clip securely directly into the guitar's soundhole without permanent modification.
Tone and Legacy
Sound Profile: Known for a hot, bright, punchy, and "kerrangy" electric-meets-acoustic tone rather than the modern, sterile sound of piezo quack. It pushes tube amplifiers into a warm, light overdrive very well.
