This is the bulk outer container originally designed to hold 24 individual packages of "Delicious Caramel Tidbits."The top flap features historical manufacturing details, marked: "Made in U.S.A. by James O. Welch Company, Cambridge, Mass. / Los Angeles, Calif. - Division of National Biscuit Company." This specific text dates the piece precisely to the mid-1960s, shortly after National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) acquired Welch in 1963.This is a fantastic, highly collectible piece of mid-century Americana and candy advertising ephemera.
