This is a remarkable piece of vintage Western Americana from Pioneer Wear (Albuquerque, USA).
This 1970s/80s jacket is a unique "mixed-media" coat , featuring a classic denim body contrasted with a heavy olive-drab canvas yoke. It is a true one-of-one find, boasting a hand-painted mountain landscape on the reverse and a possible James Burton on the front.
Key Features
• Brand: Pioneer Wear – A legendary name in high-quality Western apparel.
• Custom Artwork: The back features a hand-painted, folk-art style mountain and lake scene, adding incredible character to the denim.
• Signature Detail: The front canvas yoke features an autograph that appears to read "James Burton."
• Note for Collectors: We have included a photo of a verified James Burton signature (see final image) for your own comparison and authentication. While the script style and "B" formation show striking similarities to the legendary guitarist's known autograph, we are listing this as possibly signed and leave final verification to the buyer.
• Unique Hardware: Traditional red "frog" toggle closures and gold-tone crest buttons.
Condition
Very good vintage condition. The jacket shows light, natural wear that enhances its vintage appeal. The denim is broken in but structurally sound. All toggles and buttons are present and functional with minor fraying on two of the ribbons. The paint on the back shows minor age-appropriate distressing but remains clear and vibrant.
