Beautiful vintage African hand-carved wooden elephant family/herd consisting of 5 individually carved elephants in graduated sizes and different poses. The elephants have a rich, very dark brown/black polished appearance with distinctive hand-carved details throughout.This set was given to me as a gift from Africa approximately 15 years ago and has been kept as a decorative collection. There are no maker’s marks, signatures or country-of-origin markings underneath the elephants, so I am not making a specific country or wood-species attribution.Approximate measurements:* Largest elephant: 4.5” x 3”

* The standing adult has two holes on either side of the trunk, appearing to indicate that tusks were originally attached but are now missing. This was already the condition when I received the elephants approximately 15 years ago.
* One baby elephant has a small chip on the tip of its trunk, also present when I received the set and visible in the photos
