Vintage Arizona souvenir map towel, printed in red and green on white cotton in the pictorial cartoon style of 1950s roadside gift shops. The map runs border to border with cities and landmarks marked by small circles, among them Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Prescott, Phoenix, Tucson, Bisbee and the missions at San Xavier del Bac and Tumacacori, illustrated with saguaros, a bucking horse and rider, a cowboy fishing, a desert tortoise and a Hopi kachina mask reading Here\'s Where I Spend the Winter. A red rule border frames the design, with ARIZONA lettered in a ribbon banner at the lower corner. Hemmed on all four sides, unmarked with no maker tag found. Measures approximately 32 by 39 inches. Condition: used, with overall light even toning and a faint yellow speck near the Montezuma Castle vignette. The print is bright with no fading, and there are no holes, tears or stains. Hems are intact.
