Up for sale is a charming blue and white porcelain figural monkey dish. Crafted in the classic Chinoiserie aesthetic, it features a detailed, stylized monkey lying on its back, playfully balancing a shallow dish with its hands and feet.
The piece features a beautiful contrast of crisp white porcelain and rich cobalt blue hand-painted or transferware floral and vine motifs, paired with textured blue fur detailing on the monkey.
Use as a soap dish, trinket or jewelry catch-all, candy dish, or as a figurine.
Excellent pre-owned condition with no cracks or chips.
The glaze is bright and glossy. There may be minor, normal shelf wear on the unglazed contact points of the base.
