These cast-iron bookends could be mistaken for real anchors. Maybe they were at one time?The bottoms of the anchors are not flat -- they have a bit of a \"V\" shape to them, so each anchor can tilt a bit forward or backward. This is perfect for use as a bookend or a doorstop.
