Up for sale is a stunning, vintage Chinese Famille Rose (Fencai) porcelain bowl featuring an incredibly detailed, hand-painted mountainous landscape on the exterior and a traditional symbolic design on the interior. This beautiful mid-to-late 20th-century piece showcases excellent craftsmanship, vibrant enamels, and a rare, hand-written private studio mark.
Design Details:
• Exterior: A continuous, hand-painted landscape scene depicting classic Chinese mountains, traditional houses, water, clouds, and lush trees executed in rich Famille Rose overglaze enamels.
• Interior: A clean white glaze accented by an iron-red "Five Bats" (Wu Fu) design encircling a central geometric longevity symbol. The five bats traditionally represent the five blessings: health, wealth, longevity, love of virtue, and a peaceful death. The upper edge is finished with a delicate gold rim.
• Hall Mark: The underside bears a clear, hand-written 6-character private studio hallmark in iron red: 徐立德堂鑑製 (Xu Li De Tang Jian Zhi), which translates to "Authenticated and Made for the Xu Lide Hall."
