Vintage Chinese hand-painted porcelain figural statue measuring approximately 6” tall.
Features a bearded traditional Chinese figure or immortal wearing an elaborately decorated robe and standing among stylized green cloud forms. Beautiful polychrome decoration throughout with yellow, turquoise/green, blue, pink and orange accents.
The underside is impressed “CHINA” and also bears a separate four-character Chinese impressed seal/mark. The specific maker/workshop and identity of the figure have not been positively identified.
Hollow porcelain construction with original opening in the underside.
Very nice vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or missing pieces observed. Minor surface and manufacturing irregularities consistent with age may be present. Please review all photographs closely for condition and details.
An unusual and highly decorative piece of vintage Chinese export porcelain.
Exact age, maker and identity of the figure are unknown and have not been independently authenticated.
The marking arrangement is worth emphasizing: saleed 20th-century Chinese figures are documented with both an impressed CHINA mark and a separate impressed seal, and a set of eight porcelain Immortals was likewise described as having impressed marks plus “China.”
