fine vintage Chinese Yixing zisha teapot attributed to the renowned Yixing potter Fan Yongliang (范永良), dating to the early 1970s.
The teapot is modelled in an elegant bamboo-inspired form, with a bamboo-section body, naturalistically formed bamboo-style handle, spout and finial. The design demonstrates the traditional Yixing approach of combining functional teaware with forms inspired by nature.
The body bears the inscription “玉壶买春” (Yu Hu Mai Chun), a classical poetic phrase, while the interior of the lid bears the impressed seal “范永良” (Fan Yongliang).
Fan Yongliang was born in 1943 and entered the state-owned Yixing Zisha Factory in 1958. He studied under the celebrated master Jiang Rong (蒋蓉) and later became an important figure in the Yixing ceramic industry.

Condition:
The teapot is in vintage condition with age-related wear. There is a very small chip, approximately sesame-seed size, to the outer edge of the lid. The lid does not sit completely flush and shows slight lifting/warping. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description and condition report.
