Beautiful vintage French Limoges porcelain trinket box by Porcelaine Artistique F.M., featuring an unusual elongated form and delicate pink floral decoration.
The creamy white porcelain is decorated with trailing pink flowers, buds and soft green foliage, accented by a mottled pink border around the lid and base. Raised white enamel accents add dimension to portions of the flowers and leaves.
The box is finished with ornate antiqued gilt/brass-tone metal mounts and an especially charming figural scissors clasp at the front — a wonderful detail for collectors of unusual Limoges closures.
The underside bears the Porcelaine Artistique F.M. Limoges France factory mark, along with Limoges France and “Rehaussé Main,” indicating decoration enhanced by hand.
The hinged lid opens to a clean white porcelain interior.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. I find no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs to the porcelain. Floral decoration presents beautifully, with expected age-related patina/darkening to the metal mounting and hardware. Hinge and scissors closure are intact and functional. Please review all photographs closely, as they are part of the condition description.
