Following WWI, the French were anxious to rebuild their economy. As part of the rebuilding, toy manufacturers were encouraged to manufacture dolls to compete with Lenci. Beginning in the 1920s. Eduard Raynal started manufacturing dolls with molded felt faces and hard stuffed cloth bodies. This doll was created later probably in about 1933. Although there is a resemblance to Lencis, her face is slimmer making her appear to be an older child. She also has longer legs. There is soiling to her face and some stains on her body. She has brown side-glancing eyes, single stroke eyebrows, upper eyelashes, a closed mouth, and straight blonde mohair. She wears a French style navy and white cotton dress, with a separate white collar, a white fitted straw hat, white socks, and red felt shoes. The shoes appear to have been sewn on, so I did not remove them.
