Crafted vintage Chinese studio art pottery vase/planter. This heavy (2lbs 4.1 oz ) clay vessel features a striking hand-carved, high-relief dragon winding around the exterior with highly detailed scale texturing.The body of the vase is incised with the full text of the famous classical Tang Dynasty poem “Ascending Stork Tower” (登鹳雀楼) by Wang Zhihuan, rendered in stylized traditional calligraphy. The poem reads: "The white sun sets behind the mountains, the Yellow River flows into the sea. To see a thousand miles further, step up another flight of stairs."The relief work also features large, deeply glazed auspicious characters for "Dragon" (龙), "Wealth" (财), and "Good Fortune/Blessings" (福), alongside the traditional blessing "May all your wishes come true" (万事如意) near the base.
