Large vintage studio pottery vase by American ceramic artist Harold C. Mantz featuring a textured warm brown stoneware body with extensive hand-incised abstract and organic designs. A rich cobalt blue glazed rim and interior provide a dramatic contrast to the natural stoneware exterior.
The underside is incised with the Mantz signature. Harold C. Mantz was an American ceramic artist and longtime art educator whose studio pottery includes wheel-thrown stoneware with incised decoration and contrasting glazed surfaces. This substantial approximately 11" example makes an impressive piece of collectible American studio vintage condition. No obvious cracks or major chips visible. Light surface marks and natural variations associated with handmade studio pottery are present. Felt pads have been added to the underside. Please review all photos closely for condition.
