Beautiful vintage Japanese Inaba Cloisonné (Shippo) decorative plate, crafted by Inaba Cloisonné Co. of Kyoto, Japan.
The plate features an elaborate phoenix (Ho-o) motif surrounded by colorful floral and foliage designs. The finely detailed enamel work is set against a textured silver-tone background, with rich shades of blue, green, turquoise, orange, red, and purple. The reverse has a dark enamel finish.
Measures approximately 7.5 inches in diameter and weighs approximately 702 grams.
Includes the original presentation box, original Inaba Cloisonné Co. Japanese and English informational literature, and Takashimaya packaging/materials shown in the photos. The original paperwork explains the traditional Japanese cloisonné-making process and identifies Inaba Cloisonné Co., Kyoto, Japan.
