Adorable vintage ceramic scarecrow salt and pepper shaker pair, made in Japan. These whimsical figures feature expressive hand-painted faces, yellow straw hats and blue clothing.
Both pieces retain their original JAPAN foil stickers. They are unmarked as to maker. The design is reminiscent of mid-century Holt-Howard novelty ceramics; however, because there is no Holt-Howard mark present, they are being sold as Holt-Howard style rather than confirmed Holt-Howard pieces.
Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with age and use wear. There is a chip on one arm, a chip on one knee, and chipping/wear around the bottom bases, along with scattered paint/glaze wear. Bottom fill openings are present and stoppers are missing. Please see all photos closely for condition.
