The exterior is completely embellished with individually sewn black and ivory/white buttons arranged across the front, back, sides, and part of the shoulder strap. Tiny black seed beads trim the edges for additional texture and detail.
The white buttons have a beautiful pearly, shell-like sheen that catches the light, creating a dramatic graphic black-and-white look.

This is a fantastic example of the heavily embellished handbag styles associated with the late 1990s and early 2000s and fits beautifully into the current Y2K, maximalist, art-to-wear, and statement-accessory aesthetic.
Pre-owned vintage condition. There may be light wear, loose threads, irregular stitching, minor surface wear, or other signs of age and use consistent with a handmade/embellished vintage bag. Please review all photographs closely, especially the buttons, beadwork, strap, edges, lining, and hardware, as the photos are part of the condition description. I have only counted two buttons missing and in my opinion the missing buttons are not noticeable and does not effect the elegance of the purse.
