Absolutely extraordinary vintage Kiki Hart gown dating to the late 1960s/1970s. This was custom-made for a prominent New Jersey socialite and is a beautiful surviving example of high-end occasion dressing from the era.The gown is made from a sheer chocolate-brown chiffon scattered with tiny white polka dots and features a dramatic high neckline, long sheer sleeves, a beautifully full floor-length skirt, and contrasting larger polka-dot detailing at the waist, cuffs, and hem. The off-white accents at the cuffs add another striking detail. The combination of the tiny dotted chiffon with the oversized polka-dot trim is fantastic in person.The gown also includes its detachable coordinating polka-dot belt, as shown in the photographs, as well as a detachable oversized bow at the front collar. The primary condition issue is discoloration to the off-white/white areas at the neckline and the contrasting portions near the wrists/cuffs. These areas may improve considerably with professional vintage cleaning. I have not attempted to clean or treat the gown myself, as I would rather leave that to the buyer or a professional experienced with delicate vintage textiles.Aside from the noted discoloration, the dress presents beautifully and is an exceptional vintage piece.
