What You\'re Getting
A big, confident piece of vintage Mexican folk pottery — a round-bodied redware vase with a tall straight neck, standing about 11 in and hand painted all the way round.
Over a burnished terracotta ground the painter has laid a huge red and yellow sunflower, a dark stylised bird with a yellow blossom in its beak, deep green foliage, and a white shoulder band of looping scrollwork and dotted triangles that carries on up the neck as a zigzag. Blues, plum and ochre fill the rest.
Condition & Details
Honest vintage condition, and the paint is the part to read carefully. This is cold-painted earthenware — the decoration sits on top of the fired clay rather than under a glaze — which is normal for the type and means it wears.
Measurements, tape in photo 3: about 11 in tall and 7 in across at the widest point of the body.
The clay is sound. Looking over all five views I found no chips, no cracks and no restoration to the body, neck or foot.
Shipping & Returns
Free shipping, USPS with tracking, dispatched within one business day of cleared payment. It ships double-boxed and suspended in fill, neck packed separately, because a tall neck on a round body is exactly the shape couriers break. Buying more than one item? Ask and I will combine.
30-day returns accepted. Buyer pays return postage and the item must come back as it was sent. Every flaw I could find is photographed and written up above — please read it, and ask me anything before you buy.
