This is a highly unusual and eye-catching ornate dagger with matching sheath that I recently rediscovered in storage. I purchased it at an sale roughly eight years ago and completely forgot about it until now. The piece is heavily decorated with detailed dragon and mythical creature motifs, openwork panels, and raised scroll designs. The grip features a fine mesh wrap, and the sheath has a belt loop/hanger on the reverse. Behind the openwork sections you can see red fabric, and the interior of the sheath has an old wooden liner.
