Meet the Sheriff!
This wonderfully kitschy vintage character cookie jar was made by Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery Co. of Roseville, Ohio.
Known as the "Sheriff Pig," No. 363, this large ceramic jar features a wonderfully expressive pig sheriff wearing a sunny yellow hat, brown uniform with black star badge and bow tie, and seafoam-to-green trousers. His rosy cheeks, hand-painted details and unmistakable mid-century character make him an especially fun display piece for a retro kitchen or vintage pottery collection.
The underside bears the impressed RRP/Roseville, Ohio/USA pottery marking.
A pink fabric tie is currently threaded around the hat. It appears to be a later replacement rather than the original decorative cord and can easily be removed or replaced if desired.
Vintage condition with age-related wear consistent with use and display.
