Vintage Stanley Bailey No 7 Jointer Plane Made in England 22\" Woodworking Tool For Sale

Offered here is a vintage Stanley Bailey No. 7 jointer plane, made in England.

This is the large No. 7 bench/jointer plane, measuring just under 22 inches long and approximately 3 inches wide. It weighs approximately 8.5 lbs.

Markings include:

• BAILEY cast into the front of the body
• NO 7 – MADE IN ENGLAND cast into the rear
• STANLEY on the lever cap

The plane is in used vintage condition with wear from age and use. It previously had surface rust which has been removed, leaving staining and discoloration, particularly on the sole. There are also scratches, finish wear, marks and other signs of use.

The wooden front knob and rear tote appear solid with normal finish wear and marks. I do not see any cracks or repairs to either. The cast-iron body also appears sound with no cracks that I can see.

The blade/chipbreaker and adjustment hardware are present as shown in the photographs.

I have not sharpened, tuned, or checked the sole for precision flatness, so the plane is being sold in its present condition rather than represented as ready for immediate precision woodworking. That said, I have no reason to believe it is defective in any way.
