Titanic Era Wedding dress circa 1912. It was purchased in the late 90’s from the estate of the original owner and was intended for a fashion display, but was never used.
Original owner was very petite. Length from shoulder to hem is nearly 55” and waist is approximately 14” laid flat. I used a teen dress form for the pictures. All measurements are approximate as I do not have the proper dress form.
Material appears to be some kind of silk or satin with lace but I am not sure of the composition. I’m unsure of the original color - at the present time, it’s a warm, rich ivory.
I have included the pictures of the original owner wearing the dress for her bridal portraits. They will be sent with the dress.
Dress has been stored in acid free tissue in an acid free box in climate controlled conditions and is in wonderful condition for its age.
Has a short, chapel length train and hem is weighted. I was told the dress was custom made but there are no labels so I cannot confirm that.
As shown in the pictures, there is some small spotting on the dress in various locations, some dust or smudging near the hem. I have not attempted to remove it. There is also an area on the back where the lace has pulled apart in a small area.
The dress is being sold as-is so please ask any questions prior to purchase.
Additional pictures and measurements can be taken upon request.
