Vintage or Antique Turkish Canakkale Style Ewer Redware Pottery AS-IS READ ALL
This listing is for what appears to be a dark brown glazed handmade folk art ewer vessel in the style of Turkish Canakkale pitcher ewers. It features a hand made ceramic jug form composed of redware clay/ceramic covered in a rustic dark brown drip style glaze finish with a top center opening and a small spout extending from the center of the form\'s neck and a small spout opening at the top corner of the applied handle on the back side. The shape / design includes an array of applied figural forms including a bird perched on a curved shelf on the top of the form\'s bulbous base beneath what appears to be a human figure/effigy with it\'s arms raised above its head with unknown objects in the hands while supporting the small spout which is beneath a flat jagged/sawtooth form, matching wing forms on each side of the neck and on each side of the vessels wide base form. The form/style is similar to that of Turkish Canakkale folk art pottery but I do not know if that is a correct attribution as this style of pottery is not my area of expertise.
The vessel is in AS-IS vintage handmade pre-owned used condition with wear & damage including the top center opening/rim has been broken and glued back together at some point in it\'s lifetime, there are chips/broken off pieces/details all over the form as shown in photos, uneven surface finish with drips/runs/voids/raised protrusions of clay debris in the glaze, heavy caked on dirt/dust/grime and MORE so please read complete details below and review photos closely for condition.Please note that the piece will be properly packaged and boxed in order to avoid any damage during transit and I am including FREE RETURNS on domestic/USA shipments (only) in order to ensure that you are happy with your purchase...I just ask that you choose \"just didn\'t like it\" or \"changed my mind\" as the reason for return when submitting the return request—once I have received the item back I will happily refund your purchase price including the original shipping charges paid. • Condition: In AS-IS vintage or antique pre-owned handmade used condition with wear including the top center opening rim has been broken into many pieces and glued back together as shown in photos (the repair appears to have been done years before it came into my possession and they were not done very well in my opinion), there are broken off / chipped off pieces all over the form including on the sawtooth wing designs/edges/corners/raised surfaces revealing a raw unglazed reddish clay surface beneath with at least one of the chipped areas being recolored a dark brown/black, cracks, repaired areas, the glaze is uneven with raised bumps/protrusions of clay debris fired onto the surface, glaze voids, fine abrasions, scratches, scuffing, drips, runs, dents, dings, heavy caked on dirt/dust/grime in the details/crevices, fine flea bite size chips/dings/marks all over the form, chips around the bottom edge with runs/drips of fired on glaze wrapping around to the bottom side, open air pockets & bubbles in the glaze, air pocket blowouts in the surface of the glaze, fingerprints, loose fibers/lent, oxidation, grime, gunk, debris, unknown missing parts/pieces, there is a piece of broken off ceramic between the top center hole rim and the sawtooth slab that extends from it from where it was repaired and the piece was not put back in place (and it appears the raw exposed ceramic surface was recolored with paint or a marker), large chips on the sawtooth details, an area of scratching/scuffing to the left of the back handle, crazing/crackling and heavy overall wear from age and handling. • Origin: Unknown. Based on the form and similar jugs from previously sold listings I am guessing it was made in Turkey, Greece or in the general region but I cannot guarantee. I have seen the style described as Ottoman and/or Aegean but I do not know where it was originally made or if Turkey/Greece is a correct attribution in style so please do your own due diligence in determining if the piece fits your needs.

• Materials: Unknown reddish colored clay/ceramic, unknown dark brown glossy glaze
