This authentic early-1960s (circa 1960-1964) sleeveless knit cocktail shell/sweater blouse by \"huddlespun\" (a Herald Knitwear brand) features a highly collectible novelty playing card suit theme. The jet-black background is made of premium 100% virgin wool, providing a stunning contrast to the heavy embellishments. The sweater features a gorgeous decorative border layout running completely around the bottom hem, showcased entirely in hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. The novelty design is beautifully outlined in a mix of sparkling prong-set rhinestones and raised Lucite/plastic cabochons. The embellishments are mechanically set with a highly durable riveted-back structure, making them secure and smooth against skin or undergarments. Details: - High, clean front neckline with a partial vertical zipper closure at the upper back. - All-lowercase \"huddlespun\" ribbon tag with a copyright symbol is sewn sideways into the inner vertical back-zipper track hem. - Elegant, short, cropped, sleeveless shell silhouette—perfect for wearing over high-waisted cigarette pants, a wiggle skirt, or as a striking statement top. - Single-family owned (belonged to my mother).
