- Authentic highly collectible relic of wartime history.
- Wooden clackers were vital pieces of battlefield and home-front equipment.
- They were standard issue for WWI trench soldiers, WWI Gas Alarm & Air Raid Wooden Rattles
- This Rattle has a T marked along the end, (shown in picture)
- I see an uppercase "T" mark stamp embedded on the lower frame side (faint but there)
- This "T" stamp could mean different things. I have completed my research. There are too many variables. "Late War equipment variation", "Territorial Forces", I also used google lens that stated it was a broad arrow inside a triangle, and/or it is worn down, or the hardwood grain often resists hand-punched stamps, stating the outer diagonal barbs fail to bite into the surface, leaving behind only the vertical trunk and the flat baseline creating the distinct "T" profile. Research On.... It still is a nice relic.
- There is also another design underneath the nail in the rattle that could have been an arrow inside a triangle, but was not stamped hard enough, therefore leaving what appears to be a number 7.
- This rattle could also originate from the United Kingdom.
