100% authentic and only shows minor age and remains in excellent condition and display wonderfully. Has a jaunty salt crush look to it. This cap is in excellent condition and displays great. There is a very small area on one side where some of the lacquer finish on the chin strap stuck to the bottom side of the cap. That would likely flake off the cap itself with little effort and doesn't show when on display (see photos). That is about the only condition issue I can find at all. The cap retains its full internal leather sweatband, and beautiful lining and is maker marked to a capo maker in Toronto Canada. The original officers Kings crown insignia on the front is padded and exceptionally nice.
The Canadian RAF in Malta especially is a fascinating history and this uniform makes for an excellent display of those courageous pilots and air crews. Of course, Canadian pilots flew in all battles in WWII including the Battle of Britain.
