HISTORICAL PROVENANCE & BOEING CONNECTION:The reverse side of the black metal casing features an authentic, hand-etched vintage inventory stamp reading "BAC 3289". This confirms the instrument was an active tool utilized by the Boeing Airplane Company (BAC) during or immediately following WWII. This tool likely rigged flight control cables (rudders, ailerons, elevators) on iconic historical aircraft such as the B-17 Flying Fortress, B-29 Superfortress, or legendary early post-war propliners.
COMPLETE KIT & MATCHING SERIALS:-Instrument Body: Stamped with Model No. 402-1D-2 and Serial No. 951 on the factory metal data plate.
Wooden Storage Case: Features the matching Model/Serial numbers (402-1D-2 / 951) handwritten on the reverse wood grain of the lid. The inner lid retains the original brass calibration matrix plate, matching Serial No. 951.

CONDITION REPORT:-Tensiometer: The mechanical assembly is highly preserved. The dial faces, measurement markings, and vibrant red indicator needle are incredibly crisp. The metal housing shows light, honest field patina and minimal paint wear.
Dial Cover/Lens: The original amber-colored protective plastic shield is present but does not fit securely (it has shrunk with time). As is universal with 80-year-old celluloid/lucite, it has naturally shrunk over time and detached from the frame. It is included loose and intact.
Wooden Case: Finger-jointed wooden box remains completely sturdy and structurally sound, displaying great vintage workspace character.
Manuals: The paper instruction documents are in phenomenal condition with no heavy tears, structural crumbling, or dark grease stains obscuring the text.
