Wood Puzzle Late 19th Or Early 20th Century, The Departure, By E. M. Bennett For Sale

This rare and unusual wood puzzle from the late 19th or early 20th century is titled "The Departure" by E. M. Bennett, a well-known artist at the time. The pieces are 3/8ths of an inch thick and tightly cut. I like to think I’m great at puzzles; I knew from the start that three side pieces were missing, but that didn't deter me from trying to put it together.

This puzzle is a work of art, not only because of the image, but because of the person who had the patience and skill to cut it and add some adorable figural pieces to it. In the end, it was worth the challenge. On that note, enjoy the rest of your day.
