The Flock-You Detector is a compact, portable wireless surveillance-awareness device designed to detect wireless signatures associated with Flock Safety automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) cameras.
Built on the ESP32-2432S028R platform, this device features a 2.8-inch color touchscreen, audible detection alerts, and a custom 3D-printed protective enclosure.
Each unit comes fully assembled, programmed, and tested. Simply connect USB power to begin scanning.
No subscription, cloud account, or internet connection required for standalone operation.

HOW IT WORKS
When powered on, the detector automatically scans nearby 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi activity and supported Bluetooth LE signals.
The firmware compares observed wireless data against known Flock-related identifiers and signal patterns.
When a suspected match is detected, the device displays an alert and provides an audible notification.
The detector operates passively and does not connect to, disable, jam, or interfere with cameras or wireless networks.
OPTIONAL ANDROID GPS & PHONE SUPPORT
The detector works independently without a smartphone.
For additional functionality, users can pair it with the open-source FlockFree Navigation application on a compatible Android phone.
This allows the phone to provide GPS coordinates for recording and reviewing suspected camera detections.
GPS is optional. The detector does not contain a built-in GPS receiver. Android companion support only; an iPhone companion application is not included.

Tap the touchscreen to cycle through available screens. The BOOT button allows display rotation.

Each device is individually assembled, programmed, and tested before shipment.
Testing includes display operation, Wi-Fi scanning activity, audio functionality, and simulated detection alerts.
The demonstration video shows a simulated detection test, not an actual Flock camera detection.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Detection depends on wireless signatures, signal strength, distance, interference, and camera hardware or firmware configuration.
Not every Flock or ALPR camera transmits detectable signatures. False positives and missed detections are possible.
The device does not visually identify cameras or guarantee detection of every surveillance system.
Designed for passive wireless monitoring, privacy education, and security research.

This device uses community-developed CYD-Flock-You firmware, based on the original Flock-You project.
