• True giant heirloom: Developed in the 1940s by Florida seedsman Melville Dillon, Florida Giant is a classic giant watermelon heirloom, non-GMO and open-pollinated.
• Huge, round melons: Nearly round fruits commonly reach 30–50 lb, with giants of 80–90 lb reported in top conditions.

• Harvest: Check the underside for a creamy yellow field spot, dry tendril near the stem, and a duller “thunk” when tapped — all good signs your Florida Giant is ready.
