The Kremer K8 Spyder is an open-cockpit Le Mans Prototype (LMP1) racing car built by the German team Kremer Racing. Introduced in 1994, it was fundamentally an evolution of the legendary Porsche 962 Group C car, modified into a roofless \"Spyder\" configuration to comply with changing IMSA and ACO regulations
Technical SpecificationsThe car was built around a high-rigidity carbon fiber body resting on an aluminum honeycomb tub. Because regulations restricted its performance, it was significantly down on power compared to earlier 900+ horsepower Kremer variants.

Major Racing AchievementsOnly four examples of the Kremer K8 Spyder were ever produced. Despite being heavier and slower on paper than its newer, factory-backed competitors, its bulletproof reliability brought it historic racing success.

• 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans: The K8 debuted sporting the iconic blue and orange Gulf Oil livery. Driven by 5-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell, Jürgen Lässig, and Robin Donovan, it finished an impressive 6th place overall.
• 1995 24 Hours of Daytona: The car achieved its crowning glory at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Driven by Giovanni Lavaggi, Jürgen Lässig, Marco Werner, and Christophe Bouchut (Chassis WSC01), it won the race outright by 5 full laps over the nearest Ferrari competitor.
