The California 1/4 Goldback celebrates Justitia, the virtue of Justice, through artwork filled with symbolism drawn from California’s history, landscape, and natural beauty. The design centers on the enduring principle:
“To delay justice is injustice.”
Justitia stands at the heart of the design holding the familiar scales of justice, representing fairness, balance, and equal treatment under the law. In her other hand, a gavel rests across a stack of books, bringing together the ideas of lawful authority, wisdom, and the foundations upon which a just society is built.
A special detail emerges when the California 1/4 Goldback is viewed under UV light. Water appears to fill Justitia’s scales, reinforcing the idea that justice requires continued care and effort to remain balanced.
California imagery is incorporated throughout the artwork. California poppies, the state flower, appear prominently within the scene and in Justitia’s crown, while California dogface butterflies, the state insect, move through the composition as symbols of change and renewal.
The background pays tribute to one of California’s most recognizable landscapes: Yosemite National Park. The towering forms of Half Dome and El Capitan frame the scene and connect the virtue of Justice with the natural grandeur for which California is known around the world.

This item will be shipped using the Standard Envelope service. It will arrive in a regular letter-style envelope rather than a box or padded mailer. We have tested mailing in a rigid mailer with very unsatisfactory results - packages were frequently lost or torn up in the USPS mail sorting machines. The item will not include a rigid holder, protective sleeve, or other bulky packaging. Our packaging is designed to remain within Standard Envelope requirements while keeping shipping costs as low as possible.

Tracking:
