One side displays Catherine’s ornate crowned “E II” monogram, with the date 1792 divided across the field and surrounded by a decorative wreath. The opposite side features the crowned Russian double-headed imperial eagle, the denomination “ПЯТЬ КОПѢЕКЪ” (Five Kopeks), and the E–M mintmark for the Ekaterinburg Mint.
These impressive Catherine II five-kopeks pieces were unusually large and heavy copper coins, typically approximately 42–43 mm in diameter and around 50 grams when originally issued.
