RARE and early, “University in Cambridge” (Harvard University) School CATALOGUE from October, 1821 – with a listing of the school’s MEDICAL, Law, and Theological “Officers and Students”. Catalog is SIGNED in pen ink along the top as follows, “S. J. May” . This may be the signature of the noted Unitarian Minister and educational reformer Samuel Joseph May (1797 – 1871) who graduated from the Harvard Divinity School in 1820. Further research is probably warranted by someone more acquainted with Samuel Joseph May’s signature.

CONDITION: this 1821 Harvard catalog is guaranteed authentic and original (NOT a copy). It measures about 5 ½ x 8 5/8 inches in size and is in fine overall condition with some light uniform toning. There is one light horizontal and one light vertical fold. There are NO rips or tears, but there is some minor chipping of the paper in the bottom right corner (see scans).
