Up for sale is an exceptional, authentic mid-19th-century quarter-plate daguerreotype portrait of a seated couple. Condition Details & Notes for Collectors:Image Quality: Outstanding clarity. When held at the proper angle to eliminate the mirror reflection, the faces of both the man and woman are beautifully sharp, crisp, and fully visible with excellent contrast. There is no wiping or image loss to the subjects. Case Condition: The embossed floral leather case is complete, but the spine is split at the seam, separating the front and back panels. The interior red velvet pad remains vibrant. Plate Medium: Confirmed authentic quarter-plate on a copper backing. The original glass, brass mat, and paper tape seal remain safely intact."
