1852 3c Silver, FS-301, 1852, 1/Inverted 2, Extremely Rare For Sale

This variety is extremely rare, with PCGS only certifying 8 peices to date. The date was punched inverted initially, then corrected without full surface abrasion, with the die maker punching the 1 well centered above the inverted digit. This results in several pick up points; the right base of the 1 contains a small tail which connects to the outer lower loop of the 8. The flag of the 1 has a spike-like protrusion which runs south from the tip. The right side of the upright, on the upper 2/3rds, has a half circular area, which crosses at the last 3rd and crosses to the left side, and another circular area here to the base. the upper top of the loop of the under digit, is visible below the base of the 1. The base of the 2 is visible above and slightly left, above the flag of the 1.
