Just take a look at this extremely scarce Edgar Allan Poe Altemus edition! This intriguing and beautiful little treasure includes all the eerie poems that have made this author the most esteemed and world renowned in this genre. Included here are all of the ghostly favorites including The Valley of Unrest, Dreamland, The Raven, Fairyland, The Bells, The Haunted Palace, and so many more. This little gem measures approx. 6" x 4 1/4" and was considered "pocket size" at the time as it would fit nicely into a Victorian lady's skirt pocket and would be a pleasant way to pass time reading in the garden or library. Please don't miss this very scarce jack-pot find as you may truly regret it.
As Altemus collectors know, copyright dates in these publications don't necessarily reflect the actual date of the publication (we see this in the Alice in Wonderland series). But according to the Henry Alemus website, and specifically the "Lucille Project," this gem was published in 1896 and is part of the "Petit Trianon" series. From the Altemus website:
