Wyant (1875 - 1967) was from Pennsylvania and seems to have been fairly sophisticated, as seen in thesemeaty manuscript cookbooks, with stationary with recipes and notes from San Ysidro Ranch as well as Congress. But the recipes are the thing and it’s a terrific American assemblage. Recipes include Gin Fizz, Cesar salad, Yorkshire pudding, horseradish salad, canapés, chess pie, Boston brown bread, spoon bread, rum punch, egg nog, gin, baked beans, Lady Baltimore Cake, Ice Box cookies, baked apple dumplings, chocolate peppermint roll, Lobster a la Newberg, burnt almond ice cream, &c. &c. Absolutely stuffed with recipes, large books, one-of-a-kind.
