A highly collectible pair of intact blocks of four from the 1908 Austro-Hungarian Offices in the Ottoman Empire (Levant) Jubilee issue, celebrating the 60th reign anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph I. This historical lot features the 5-Centimes green and 10-Centimes rose-red denominations, both printed in French currency for international trade within the Turkish Empire.
Both multiples are structurally sound with intact perforations, retaining partial original adhesive gum on their reverse sides. Most significantly, each block features crisp, legible "CONSTANTINOPEL" circular date stamp cancellations dated 1914. Because all foreign post offices in the region were permanently abolished in September 1914 at the outbreak of World War I, these pieces represent the final months of operation for the entire century-old Austrian Levant postal system.
