1930's Selmer USA George Haynes Solid Silver Boehm Flute.
In the 1920's George Bundy, who was the head of Selmer tried to buy the William S Haynes Company, when they refused to sell, Bundy hired William S's brother George to create a Ffute production line for Selmer, these were originally made in New York and eventually the productions was moved to Elkhart.
This flute is one of those, and pre dates by many years the later student selmer flutes. It is solid silver (rings, barrel, tube, keys) and constructed with a Heavy Wall (.018/.020), C foot, offset G and closed holes. These flutes play very similarly to the commercial haynes flutes that they were contemporaneous too.
This flute is in excellent shape, with no signs of prior damage and a recent overhaul with I believe staubinger pads. It is currently playing well top to bottom. As with all woodwind it could likely benefit with some adjustments to taste, but I will leave those for the next owner .
It will ship in the pictured new wooden case.
