These colorful, humorous folios were published by Harry L. Alford’s own studio in Chicago and were hugely popular with small-town and “German/Irish band” musicians in the 1930s. The covers alone are works of art, and the music is full of classic polkas, waltzes, and “wise cracks” for the band to read aloud between tunes.
