1973 Architectural Blueprints Hotel Te Puna Bel Air Tahiti French Polynesia
For sale is a rare pair of original architectural drawings from July 1973 for the extension of the historic Hôtel Te Puna Bel Air in Punaauia, Tahiti (French Polynesia).
These large-format technical plans were drawn by Ingénieur E. Atger (Bureau d’Études). The project is labeled “EXTENSION BATIMENT R + 1”.
Sheet 1 (Facades – Plate 5):
• Multiple elevations: Façade Arrière Ouest, Façade Principale Est, Pignon Nord, and Pignon Sud.
• Beautiful mid-century tropical modernist style with balconies, palm trees, and clean lines.
Sheet 2 (Floor Plans & Sections – Plate 6):
• Detailed ground floor plan with rooms, bathrooms, passage couvert, balcony (“balcon”), stairs, and technical layouts.
• Cross-sections (Coupe A-A, Coupe B-B, Vue I, etc.).
• Details of cells/rooms at 1/20 scale.
Beautiful mid-century tropical modernist design with balconies, palm trees, and integration with the environment. These cyanotype-style blueprints are a fantastic piece of French Polynesia history — the hotel no longer exists, making these documents especially collectible for fans of Tahiti memorabilia, architectural history, mid-century modern design, or vintage engineering artifacts.

Condition (important – please review all photos carefully):
• Original period paper with natural aging, yellowing/toning, and some foxing.
• Prominent fold creases from long-term folded storage which includes one small hole at a crease.
• Minimal edge wear
• Ink is mostly strong and legible, but shows some fading, smudging, and wear near heavy folds.
• Light surface soiling marks on facade info square.
No major missing sections on either sheet, but these are used working documents, not pristine art prints. Great candidates for framing (possibly as a pair), display, or archival collection. Sold as-is.
