1976 Franklin Mint Official Bicentennial Day Commemorative Sterling Silver Proof Medal with Original Presentation Album & Bicentennial Declaration
Offered here is an original 1976 Official Bicentennial Day Commemorative Medal, issued in celebration of the 200th anniversary of American independence on July 4, 1976. This approximately 39 mm medal was struck by the Franklin Mint in sterling silver (.925) and originally issued as a proof within this special commemorative presentation.
The medal commemorates the historic Bicentennial celebration centered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The accompanying presentation material includes The Official Bicentennial Declaration of the People of the United States of America, patriotic red-white-and-blue ribbon detailing, and period printed/facsimile signatures including Philadelphia Mayor Frank L. Rizzo and Pennsylvania Governor Milton J. Shapp.
The silver medal remains mounted in its original presentation panel and displays strong reflective proof surfaces with sharply defined relief. The surrounding album and declaration materials remain together, making this considerably more attractive as a complete historical display piece than a loose medal alone.
Included:
- 1976 Official Bicentennial Day Commemorative Medal
- Sterling silver .925 proof issue
- Original black presentation album
- Original Bicentennial Declaration booklet/material
- Original red velvet presentation panel and patriotic ribbon accents
A substantial original American Bicentennial / Franklin Mint / sterling silver commemorative suitable for a U.S. history, exonumia, Americana, Philadelphia, or Franklin Mint collection.
